After two long years of celebrating a socially distant Halloween, H.U.G.S.—the volunteer and community outreach arm of the Woodland Hills Foundation—is proud to announce the RETURN of Trunk or Treat! On Saturday, October 15th at Woodland Hills High School, Woodland Hills teachers, staff, parents, community groups, businesses and more will come together to create lasting fun and memories for our students! Gone are the days of the Drive-Boo and Spooky Delivery from “Six Feet Trick or Treat!” Instead, these different groups will come together in our school’s parking lot, deck out their trunks with Halloween decorations in the theme of their choice, dress up in their most Spooktacular costumes and hand out treats to our students as they travel from car to car, collecting candy at each stop. During our last Trunk or Treat in 2019, over 100 groups signed up to serve as “Trunk Hosts”, making ours one of the biggest, safest, most fun Trunk or Treats in our region. In fact, over 2,000 children and their guardians were in attendance and we’re anticipating even more in 2022. But we need your help! With over 1,000 children collecting candy, some community and parent groups who wish to participate simply do not have the means to both decorate their vehicles and purchase enough candy for every child. Your sponsorship will allow us to make up the difference to ensure that every group who wishes to participate can and do so without worry! This event is planned and executed entirely by our volunteers (with the assistance of the Foundation’s staff of one!) Your support will ensure this event’s success—and will ensure that the Foundation and H.U.G.S. can continue to provide these free, fun, and safe events for our community! Please consider supporting this community asset by becoming a sponsor, a donor, or an in-kind donor. We want every child to be able to extend his or herself beyond what they are capable of achieving today. Sometimes what seems like the smallest thing or the things we take for granted every day can stand in the way of a child’s happiness and well-being. With the support of friends and donors like you, we are making that possible and building a better tomorrow for our students. Sincerely, |
