BACKGROUND: My ‘Learning Through Sensory’ Dream Book request is designed to provide eight kindergarten students in my Autistic Support classroom with meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities through multi-sensory experiences. Sensory-based instruction incorporates touch, movement, sound, and sight to support skill development across academic, communication, social, and behavioral domains. By engaging in sensory play and structured sensory activities, my students are able to explore concepts in a concrete and interactive way that matches their developmental and individual learning needs. Sensory integration strategies help to support my students in regulating their emotions, sustaining their attention,and reducing barriers related to overstimulation or anxiety.
